Damage Policy
Outdoorsman Rentals
Effective Date: February 17, 2026
This Damage Policy applies to all rentals made through https://outdoorsmanrentals.com/. By renting equipment from Outdoorsman Rentals, you agree to the terms below.
1. Responsibility for Equipment
You are fully responsible for the rented equipment from the moment it is delivered to you until it is received, inspected, and cleared by Outdoorsman Rentals. Responsibility applies regardless of fault and includes:
- Physical and impact damage
- Cosmetic damage beyond normal wear
- Water, fire, and environmental damage
- Theft or loss
- Missing parts or accessories
2. Normal Wear and Tear
Normal wear and tear is defined as minor cosmetic use consistent with standard outdoor activity. It does not include:
- Cracked lenses or scratched optics
- Torn fabric, broken straps, or buckles
- Dented housings or electrical failure due to misuse
- Damage from improper storage or transport
3. Damage Assessment
All returned equipment is professionally inspected. If damage is identified, we will determine if the item requires cleaning, repair, part replacement, or full replacement. We reserve sole discretion in determining the severity of damage and the appropriate remedy.
4. Repair and Replacement Costs
You authorize Outdoorsman Rentals to charge your payment method for parts, labor, diagnostic fees, shipping, and full replacement value when necessary. Replacement value is based on current market pricing for the same or a comparable professional-grade model, not depreciated value.
5. Total Loss
If equipment is lost, stolen, destroyed, or deemed beyond repair, you are responsible for the full replacement value. Failure to return equipment may result in replacement charges, collection efforts, and reporting to authorities.
6. Cleaning Fees
Equipment returned in excessively dirty condition (mud, biological residue, blood, odor, or moisture) will result in a cleaning fee based on the labor and materials required to restore the item.
7. Unauthorized Repairs or Alterations
You may not attempt repairs, modify equipment, replace parts, or disassemble components. Unauthorized alterations may result in full replacement charges.
8. Damage Protection Add-On
Unless explicitly stated in writing, Damage Protection does not cover theft, loss, intentional damage, gross negligence, or failure to return equipment. Without this add-on, you remain fully responsible for all damage and loss.
9. Disputes
To dispute a damage assessment, you must notify us in writing within 5 business days of receiving the assessment. Failure to respond within this timeframe constitutes acceptance of the charges.
10. Limitation of Liability
Outdoorsman Rentals is not responsible for injuries resulting from damaged equipment after delivery, improper use, or user error. Acceptance of equipment without timely notice constitutes acknowledgment of satisfactory condition.
